ESB Style Transforms Mini Alphard into a More Rugged Toyota Land Cruiser 300

Japanese modification house ESB Style has successfully transformed the Toyota Roomy, known as the mini Alphard, into a more rugged and tough version inspired by the Toyota Land Cruiser 300. As reported by Carscoops on Wednesday (1/1/2025), the Toyota Roomy is essentially a luxury minivan often referred to as the mini version of the Toyota Alphard.

Its luxurious design, particularly in the grille area, has led many to call the Toyota Roomy the mini version of the Toyota Alphard. However, ESB Style felt that this design wasn’t enough and sought something different for the Toyota Roomy. This led to the creation of the Toyota Landcroomy, a modification that combines luxury with toughness, inspired by the Toyota Land Cruiser 300.

“The vehicle adopts the tough front end of the Land Cruiser Series 300, complete with an extended grille and aggressive bumper intakes. At the rear, a sporty bumper with a body-colored diffuser adds to the appeal, which may not scream off-road monster but at least gives off a fun vibe,” Carscoops explains.

Unlike the Toyota Alphard, which focuses more on comfort, ESB Style sought to enhance the functionality of the Toyota Roomy to align with the off-road capabilities of its Land Cruiser inspiration. As a result, they added a roof box, which not only enhances the vehicle’s appearance but also provides extra space to carry more gear.

The Toyota Landcroomy rides on white steel wheels wrapped in Toyo Open Country R/T tires, offering extra traction for tackling challenging terrains. The modified suspension with new springs raises the vehicle’s ground clearance by 30 mm (1.2 inches), making it more capable of off-road adventures, especially when paired with the 4WD variant available from the factory.

Despite its rugged new appearance, the Toyota Landcroomy’s engine performance remains modest. Under the hood, it features two 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine options, with the turbocharged version delivering 98 hp.

The exterior changes are matched by updates to the interior. ESB Style added a foldable “Fox Mat,” transforming the Roomy into a mini camper complete with a mattress. However, with a length of just 3,725 mm, the Toyota Landcroomy remains smaller than typical MPVs, though still larger than kei cars in Japan.

The modifications by ESB Style are truly intriguing, but unfortunately, the Toyota Roomy, the base model for these modifications, is not sold in Indonesia. Currently, it is only available in Japan as a Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) product.
