The case of a Mitsubishi Xpander driver colliding with a Porsche 911 GT3 owned by Ivan’s Motor showroom has caught the public’s attention in recent days. Many people are imagining the repair costs required to make the German sports car look flawless again.
As a result of the collision, the Porsche 911 GT3’s bonnet was immediately crumpled. Similarly, the car’s grille was smashed to pieces due to the severity of the impact.
According to Teluknaga Police Chief AKP Wahyu Hidayat, the losses suffered by the car showroom are indeed enormous. This is because the car’s price has already reached Rp 5.7 billion.
“So yesterday we talked to the victim again to calculate (the losses), then last night we received news that the estimated loss is around Rp 5.7 billion, not to mention the showroom itself, all the glass,” said AKP Wahyu Hidayat.
This is just the material loss. Not to mention the expenses required for car body repairs.
Based on Indoautonews’s investigation from Porsche car user forums, it is known that the repair costs incurred for one unit of Porsche 911 GT3 are indeed very high.
“It all depends on the damage suffered and the price of the components that need to be replaced. Even cosmetic repairs alone for the Porsche 911 GT3 can reach US$ 40,000 (Rp 618.5 million),” wrote Palting, a member of the Porsche car forum, Rennlist.
One automotive content creator, Matt Armstrong, has also repaired the same Porsche car body. He once spent US$ 160,000 or around Rp 2.4 billion to repair a Porsche 911 GT3.
However, Matt Armstrong’s Porsche 911 GT3 RS was completely destroyed because it was used for racing. “This is an investment that can indeed be quite worrying if you accidentally damage it,” said Matt Armstrong on his YouTube channel.
