Erik Lukman, a resident of Lamongan, East Java, Indonesia spent a lot of money, almost IDR 300 million to modify his favorite truck, the Mitsubishi Fuso Canter Euro 2. This cost is equivalent to the price of two Daihatsu Sigra 1.0 M MT cars which were sold for IDR 146.6 million.
“I made everything myself because I happen to have a modification workshop,” said Erik Lukman proudly.
The cost of hundreds of millions of rupiah really succeeded in making the truck look special. The most attention-grabbing part is the new rearview mirror made from a camera.
Yes, Erik Lukman actually removed the conventional mirror on the truck with a camera. From this camera, Lukman can see the road conditions behind the truck via a special screen installed on the A pillar of the old Mitsubishi Fuso Canter.
“I plan to install another camera on the back of the truck because there are still some parts of the road that are not visible,” he explained.
The interior of Erik Lukman’s favorite truck is very special. Apart from being packed with a screen for a rear-view camera, Erik Lukman also has a large number of speakers. No joke, there are 10 speakers that can produce premium quality audio sound.
Erik Lukman really tries to make the interior of his truck look luxurious. He even installed a sunroof to give the impression of space and comfort.
Apart from that, he replaced the standard truck seats with BMW car seats.
“Using BMW F10 (5 series) seats,” he said proudly.
The outside appearance of Lukman’s favorite truck is no less special.
Just like other modified trucks, the cargo bed of Erik Lukman’s truck is given an interesting motif using the cutting sticker technique. However, Erik Lukman wanted to be different because the image motif he chose was the beauty of Indonesian art, such as dances from Bali.
Then this sticker cutting technique is also made as detailed as possible by manually working one part at a time, similar to the airbrush technique.
“So instead of printing the image on a sticker and then sticking it, we stick the sticker little by little to create a motif like this,” he said, explaining that the process of modifying the rear tailgate alone took up to 10 days.
After painting the rear tailgate area, the next step is to replace the standard rims with Auto One rims which are usually used on foreign buses.
“The difference is that the rims are narrow and have 10 PCD bolts, so we changed the standard PCD rims to 10 bolts,” explained Erik Lukman.
He also said that to redeem the rims that he got from abroad, he needed to spend around IDR 8 million for one wheel, not to mention wrapping it in Accelera tires, one of which costs IDR 2 million.
But he himself didn’t mind because he spent a lot of money on the truck. Moreover, Erik Lukman didn’t use the truck to work hard at all.
“Just for fun,” he said seriously.
