An extremely expensive car doesn’t mean it’s free from problems. Recently, Koenigsegg asked all owners of their manufactured car, the Koenigsegg Jesko, to refrain from driving it because it can easily catch fire.
According to Autoblog, Thursday (June 20, 2024), Koenigsegg issued the ban following a tragic incident experienced by a Koenigsegg Jesko owner in Greece.
The owner suddenly saw the car, which he bought for $3 million or equivalent to Rp 48.9 billion, catch fire.
“The car was being driven for an event called the 6to6 Europe Tour 2024. Suddenly, in the middle of the event, the car caught fire,” reported Autoblog.
In response to this tragic experience, Koenigsegg acted quickly. They requested that owners of the same car temporarily refrain from driving it.
“Out of an abundance of caution, we are asking all Jesko owners and drivers to delay driving their cars until we have had an opportunity to better understand the situation,” wrote Koenigsegg in an official statement.
Koenigsegg has yet to determine the cause of the fire, but the car’s passengers in the incident managed to escape safely.
It is known that Koenigsegg only sells the Koenigsegg Jesko in limited quantities. Currently, there are only 28 units of the Koenigsegg Jesko in circulation.
