Tight Competition between Two Chinese EV with Price IDR 300 Million

It cannot be denied that the electric car segment in Indonesia is dominated by Chinese electric cars. So it’s not surprising if they end up fighting each other.

Take for example the newest electric car made by Wuling Motors, namely the Wuling Binguo ev. The electric car is sold at a price of IDR 358 million to IDR 408 million.

This price tag apparently overlaps with NETA’s flagship electric car, namely the NETA V. Currently, the NETA V is being sold for IDR 376 million.

So it is not surprising that in the end Wuling Binguo ev seemed to be at war with its own countrymen, NETA V.

It’s just that Wuling Motors Brand & Marketing Director Dian Asmahani dismissed the smell of fighting. He said the more electric car models offered, the better it is for consumers. According to him, this indicates that the electric car market in Indonesia is growing.

“Essentially, we are optimistic that the electric car market in Indonesia will continue to grow exponentially because global trends are all pointing in that direction. “In China alone, there is more than 35 percent (market) share of electric cars,” said Dian Asmahani.

Apart from IDR 300 million electric cars, environmentally friendly passenger vehicles which are priced at lower prices are also getting tighter. Especially after the Seres E1 was officially produced in Indonesia, which allowed the electric car to receive a 10 percent VAT discount incentive.

Dian said Indonesian people are starting to choose electric cars because of the several benefits they offer. Apart from being free to use odd-even routes, battery-based electric vehicles are also more efficient in terms of operational costs.

“We see electric cars as a green mobility alternative. So our community sees enthusiasm to get alternative vehicles that are environmentally friendly, with low operational costs. “That’s one option for an electric car,” he said.

Entering politics in 2024, Dian admitted that Wuling is optimistic that sales of electric cars will remain as high as this year. Considering that electric cars are the main focus of all countries, not just in Indonesia.

“We are still optimistic because if we look at the reality, we hope that Indonesia’s condition will remain stable. We believe that based on previous election experiences, the atmosphere will be stable. “We are optimistic that Indonesia’s automotive growth will continue and grow,” he said.

Seeing the large demand for electric cars this year, Dian said that her party could not yet set a target for 2024. She explained that she would consider many things before determining the target.

“We hope to be bigger than this year. But I can’t say anything now,” said Dian.
