New Mitsubishi cars continue to arrive in Indonesia. One of the newest is the compact SUV, Mitsubishi XForce.
The car is offered in two variants at different prices. Mitsubishi XForce Exceed is sold at IDR 382.5 million and Mitsubishi XForce Ultimate at IDR 419.1 million.
Currently there are a total of eight Mitsubishi cars on offer in the country. Of the eight units, not a single car costs less than IDR 200 million.
Even though several other brands actually have cars priced under IDR 200 million. Hikaru Mii, Director Product and Strategy Division of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI), last week confirmed that currently they do not have car offers priced below IDR 200 million.
“Actually, it is possible, but we don’t have concrete plans about that,” he explained.
He said that Mitsubishi had confirmed that there would be new cars coming to Indonesia. Each car will have different advantages, specifications and technology.
“We are currently developing new models and there are several that will come to Indonesia. But there are none in the price range below IDR 200 million,” he explained.
He said that currently the options available are IDR 200 million and above which is offered through the Mitsubishi Xpander. He believes that the Indonesian people are very suitable for the price of the Mitsubishi Xpander.
From there they can also upgrade to the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Mitsubishi XForcer, the prices of which reach IDR 300 million to IDR 600 million.
“If consumers have bought the Xpander, it means there is no other direction to go. They have to jump to the Pajero Sport. So we have to prepare a better model in the future. We also don’t want them to move elsewhere,” he stressed.
