The Mitsubishi Xpander AP4 has made Indonesian people excited in the past two years. The racing car developed from Mitsubishi’s flagship Low MPV has succeeded in winning various national racing competitions such as the sprint rally championship and the national rally.
Uniquely, the Mitsubishi Xpander AP4 has never appeared again. Even in various car racing championships that were held this year, the Mitsubishi Xpander AP4 never took part.
Rifat Sungkar, the owner of the Mitsubishi Xpander Ap4 actually has an interesting answer. He said the racing car developed by Ralliart New Zealand was already retired.
So he has no intention of bringing the Mitsubishi Xpander AP4 to the current car racing event.
“At that time I was assigned by Mitsubishi to make a car based on an inspiring family car. I think the mission has been successful and complete,” said Rifat Sungkar.
He said that when it was first made, many people doubted the Mitsubishi Xpander AP4. Because the race car was made using a family car.
In fact, the Mitsubishi Xpander AP4 actually managed to win various official car racing events. Not only that, according to Rifat Sungkar, the presence of the Mitsubishi Xpander AP4 actually seemed to be the trigger for his enthusiasm to return to the national rally scene.
“In the past, when the Mitsubishi Xpander AP4 was created, rally conditions were not like now. Now there can be up to 155 participants. I’m sure this car will be one of the things that inspires,” he said.
From there, Rifat Sungkar finally saw that the Mitsubishi Xpander AP4 task had been completed. The car was enough to inspire many people to revive the national rally scene.
However, that does not mean that the Mitsubishi Xpander AP4 has completely closed the book. Rifat Sungkar said he was preparing something new that could surprise many people.
This was done by developing the current condition of the Mitsubishi Xpander AP4.
This was agreed by Intan Vidiasari, Marketing General Manager of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI). He said the car was made specifically to maintain the racing DNA in Mitsubishi cars.
“Later, when it’s finished, we’ll tell you what the car looks like,” explained Intan Vidiasari.
