The Not Produced Yet Tesla Cybertruck Sold at IDR 6.2 Billion

The Petersen Museum has succeeded in auctioning off one unit of the Tesla Cybertruck at a fantastic price of USD 400,000 or the equivalent of IDR 6.2 billion. Even though the electric pickup made by Elon Musk has not been produced yet.

Drive reported, Wednesday (11/10/2023) the auction event was held at the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles, United States. Attending the auction is also not cheap.

Getting the chance to win the Tesla Cybertruck auction is also not cheap. Petersen Museum charges quite expensive tickets.

One ordinary chair for auction is sold at USD 1,750 or the equivalent of IDR 27.1 million. For those who order one auction table, the price is USD 17,500 or up to IDR 271.3 million. The most expensive table, the Premier Table, is sold at USD 30,000 or the equivalent of IDR 465.2 million.

“There are no items for the Tesla Cybertruck being auctioned because production of the electric pickup itself has not yet started,” said Drive.

It is known that the Tesla Cybertruck will undergo the production process at the Giga Texas factory. The Petersen Museum promises that once the first wave of Tesla Cybetruck production begins, the auction winner will immediately get the sensational electric pickup.

“The electric pickup provided is not the first edition electric pickup but an electric pickup with a low chassis number,” explained Drive.

They said the price of IDR 6.2 billion could have been even higher if the item being auctioned was the first Tesla Cybertruck presented by Elon Musk in 2019.

It’s just that the value of IDR 6.2 billion is still fantastic because there are still people who want to buy even though the goods don’t exist yet. Even the winner still wants to wait a long time because the production process hasn’t started yet.

This price also exceeds the official price of the Tesla Cybertruck, which is USD 40,000 or Rp. 627.1 million.

Previously, Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed that the Tesla Cybertruck is expected to start production at the end of this year in Texas. But initially, production will probably be very limited. High volume production will probably take place in 2024.

It’s just that he guarantees that people who have been waiting for the electric pickup for a long time will not be disappointed.

“I’ve tried it directly and the performance is truly extraordinary,” said Elon Musk.
