Thanks to Drug Dealer, Turkish Police Now Have Ferrari, Bentley, Porsche

Dubai Police is known for its ultra-luxury police cars. Many police cars in Dubai use sports cars such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bentley, and so on.

Now the Turkish police could become a strong rival to the Dubai police. The reason is that Autoevolution reported, Wednesday (27/12/2023), the Turkish police have just received 23 sports and super-luxury cars to be used as part of the police fleet.

It’s no surprise that sports cars such as the Ferrari 488 GTB and Porsche Taycan Turbo S are now daily cars used by the Turkish police. Other cars are no less flashy, namely the Bentley Continental GT, Land Rover Range Rover, Audi A6, Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Mercedes Benz GLS, BMW 1 Series, and others.

Interestingly, the Turkish police did not spend any money to use the car. It turns out that dozens of sports cars and super luxury cars belonged to a drug lord with an Australian passport, Hakan Ayik.

Turkish police have just arrested the international criminal. They also confiscated all the assets of the man who was of Turkish descent, such as 23 sports cars and super luxury cars.

Well, those cars were then immediately confiscated and converted into police cars. It is estimated that the total value of these dozens of vehicles reaches USD 5 million or the equivalent of IDR 76.7 billion.

Turkish Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya, said that all the vehicles were converted into police cars based on a court decision. So they don’t immediately take and use the car without a strong legal basis.

“This vehicle will be used to carry out state duties,” he said.

It’s just that Autoevolution says there are several things you need to consider when using dozens of sports cars and luxury cars as operational cars. The cost of maintaining these cars will certainly not be cheap.

Hakan Ayik’s sports car and luxury car should be auctioned off to the general public. The auction results will certainly provide additional income for the state.

“Maintaining Ferrari, Bentley and Porsche Taycan electric cars will not be cheap. Moreover, some of these cars do not have good reliability,” suggested Autoevolution.
