Tesla is indeed serious about penalizing consumers who dare to resell Tesla vehicles for profit. They are not staying silent witnessing such speculative actions continuing without consequences.
It is known that many Tesla Cybertruck users are suddenly selling the electric pickup truck at a higher price. Initially, the price of the Tesla Cybertruck was US$ 60,990 or approximately Rp 994.8 million. After resale, the price skyrocketed to US$ 200,000 or reached Rp 3.09 billion.
So, it is not surprising that many owners of the Tesla Cybertruck are reselling the electric vehicle produced at Giga Texas. However, as quoted by Drive, on Friday (15/3/2024), a Tesla consumer admitted to having received a warning from Tesla for reselling their Tesla Cybertruck.
He even said he had been blacklisted by Tesla. Meaning he can no longer continue ordering other Tesla vehicles.
“Be careful when reselling your Cybertruck! If Tesla finds out, like me, you will be blacklisted,” he said.
He revealed that this information was known after Tesla employees directly contacted him. Tesla sent an email to him because they had already seen the advertisement he posted.
In the email, Tesla stated that they had canceled all his subsequent orders. In addition, the deposit he had made could not be refunded even though the orders were canceled.
According to Drive, this punishment is still relatively light. Previously, Tesla still imposed fines on consumers caught reselling Tesla Cybertrucks, in addition to putting their names on the blacklist.
The fine set is almost the same as the price of the electric pickup truck, which is US$ 50,000 or approximately Rp 774.5 million.
“Perhaps Tesla is still somewhat tolerant of the mistakes made by consumers,” explained Drive.
