Letters of termination of employment (PHK) for Tesla employees are circulating in cyberspace. Many foreign media criticized the layoff letter because it was considered too sadistic and frontal.
As stated by The Verge, Tuesday (7/5/2024), the layoff letter was circulated in cyberspace by a former Tesla employee who was no longer working as of Friday 3 May 2024. “We also received this letter on condition that it be anonymous,” said The Verge.
The Verge even criticized the letter for lacking a human touch. This happened because the contents of the letter were completely frontal and heartless.
“Not even AI or chatbots can match this sadism,” said The Verge.
The layoff letter issued by Tesla was relatively short and concise. In total there were only 148 words used to end industrial relations between Tesla and its employees.
“We are contacting you to convey that after a thorough assessment we see there is no reason or place for you to carry out the functions you have here,” the letter said.
The letter further informed that Tesla had taken other steps before carrying out layoffs, namely looking for other positions that could be filled by employees affected by layoffs. Both at Tesla and other companies owned by Elon Musk.
It’s just that this can be given if the review conducted by Tesla indeed agrees that there is a mutation. “Unfortunately we have not found any vacancies for which you are qualified,” read the letter, a song for laid-off employees.
“Because we have not identified available alternative positions, we will begin processing your termination from employment at Tesla, effective May 3, 2024,” Tesla wrote in closing the letter.
It is known that Tesla is currently making employee reductions. It’s no joke that the number of reductions reached 10% of total employees throughout the world.
It is estimated that the number of employees affected by layoffs has reached 140,000 people. Dismissals are also indiscriminate because several influential people at Tesla could also be laid off. Two top Tesla officials, namely Rebecca Tinucci and Daniel Ho, were among those affected by layoffs.
