It turns out that Tesla electric car owners are the ones most often involved in accidents. This conclusion was obtained based on research conducted by an insurance company in the United States, Lending Tree.
Quoted by Carscoops, Monday (25/12/2023), Lending Tree conducted research on traffic accidents that occurred in Uncle Sam’s country from November 2022 to November 2023 and the insurance claims that were received.
From these two indicators, it is known that Tesla is the car most frequently involved in traffic accidents. At least 23.54 accidents per 1,000 drivers involve cars made by Tesla.
This percentage is the largest from November 2022 to November 2023. After Tesla, Ram car drivers are in second place with a traffic accident percentage rate of 22.76. In third position is filled by drivers of Japanese-made cars, Subaru with a percentage of 20.90.
“Car accidents are one of the dominant factors that insurance companies will consider in providing protection,” said Rob Bhatt, analyst at LendingTree.
Apart from traffic accident factors, Rob Bhatt said there are several other conditions that insurance companies also need to note when providing guarantees. This condition is generally related to the habits of the car owner.
Some of these include the ability to drive a car and the influence of alcohol and narcotics.
“Usually this factor is the most aggravating,” explained Rob Bhatt.
Fortunately for this factor, Tesla car owners do not fall into the category. In this category, Ram brand car owners are the ones who have the most problems.
The total percentage of Ram car drivers who were ticketed for drunk driving reached 32.9 percent of 1,000 drivers.
Even Ram car drivers can be said to be the most dangerous. They often drive cars very fast, get drunk, and most often get tickets. What is unique about these many records is that Ram is still in the second position of the car most frequently involved in accidents after Tesla.
On the other hand, Tesla drivers are the people who obey the rules the most. They rarely get ticketed for breaking the speed limit and are never arrested for being drunk while driving a car.
