Singer Taylor Swift made many people shake their heads towards the closing of a series of concert tours titled The Eras Tour. The singer who was born on December 13, 1989 suddenly gave bonus money to 50 truck drivers.
It’s no joke that every truck driver gets USD 100,000 or around IDR 1.5 billion. This means that for all truck drivers, Taylor Swift spent USD 5 million or Rp. 75.5 billion.
TMZ said the bonus given was believed to be a form of Taylor Swift’s appreciation for truck drivers. Their presence is considered important because they bring a lot of concert equipment needed.
They even had to follow Taylor Swift around America and other countries to bring concert equipment for The Eras Tour.
“The Eras Tour concert will end in mid-August. Taylor Swift doesn’t want to forget to give appreciation before everything is over,” wrote TMZ, Thursday (3/8/2023).
Autoblog said The Eras Tour concert was very complex and large. This condition requires a large mode of transportation that can transport a variety of very complex concert equipment ranging from speakers, lighting, musical instruments, costumes, and concert support teams.
No wonder it took 50 large trucks to carry all the equipment. What is certain, according to Autoblog, is that the Rp. 75.5 billion that was spent on the truck drivers was only a small part of the profit that Taylor Swift earned at The Eras Tour concert.
TMZ said the profits from the concert reached USD 1 billion or around IDR 15.1 trillion. This concert was even predicted as the most profitable concert ever.
“It’s not just truck drivers who get bonuses. Band members, dancers, lighting, sound systems, and others also get attractive bonuses,” said TMZ.
Interestingly the economic effect of the concert was not only felt for the environment around Taylor Swift. Every area attended by The Eras Tour concert also received a large economic impact.
“Hotels, restaurants and even banks in the city where Taylor Swift is performing have reported increased revenue, and the Chicago tourism bureau says the tour helped the city record hotel occupancy records,” said Autoblog.
