Unveiling Vespa GTV 300: Luxury on Two Wheels at the Price of Toyota Agya – What Makes it Special?

Piaggio Indonesia has unveiled the Vespa GTV 300 at an attractive price of IDR 176 million, making it an enticing option for consumers. How does this classic scooter stack up, and what sets it apart?

One of the standout features of the Vespa GTV 300 is its remarkable price point. At IDR 176 million, it competes closely with the Toyota Agya GR Sport car, priced at Rp. 167.9 million.

But a great price is only part of the equation; it takes a host of unique features to capture the attention of discerning consumers.

Ayu Hapsari, PR and Communications Manager of PT PID, emphasized that the Vespa GTV 300 HPE has undergone several updates since its debut in 2006. These updates aim to infuse modernity without compromising the iconic Vespa GTV charm.

One of the most noticeable updates is the fully digital instrument panel, boasting an eye-catching design. Moreover, the Vespa GTV 300 HPE employs a keyless system that can start the scooter from a maximum distance of 1.5 meters.

“In this Vespa GTV model, we’ve introduced various enhancements, both in appearance and performance. It also features keyless ignition, similar to the GTS variant,” explained Ayu during a meeting in South Jakarta on Tuesday (5/9/2023).

The Vespa GTV 300 HPE also sports a full LED lighting system, giving this classic scooter a modern and stylish feel. The use of the Beige Sabia color with orange accents further enhances its sporty and elegant aesthetic.

Notably, the Vespa GTV’s overall appearance is elevated with matte black accents on several components. These accents can be found on the headlights, taillights, body edges, passenger handrails, exhaust cover, rearview mirror, and instrument panel frame.

The transition from an analog to a digital instrument panel has also introduced the MIA feature to the Vespa GTV 300 HPE. This feature allows users to connect their smartphones to the scooter via Bluetooth.

“For the next update, we’ve replaced the analog display with a digital meter panel. However, the Vespa GTV 300 HPE doesn’t support a TFT navigator yet,” Ayu mentioned.

Regrettably, the MIA feature on the Vespa GTV 300 HPE is an optional add-on, meaning consumers will need to pay extra to access this feature, allowing them to tailor their scooter to their specific needs.

When it comes to performance, the Vespa GTV 300 HPE has seen updates as well. The latest iteration of the Vespa GTV employs the 300 High Performance Engine (HPE), featuring a 278 cc, 1-cylinder, 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine capable of producing 23.4 hp of power and 26 Nm of peak torque.

“We’ve introduced changes to the latest generation of engines, utilizing HPE variants like those found in the Vespa GTS Super Tech 300,” Ayu highlighted.

In addition, the Vespa GTV is equipped with a USB port conveniently located in the front leg protector storage compartment. Furthermore, the spacious under-seat storage compartment comes equipped with a coaster for added practicality.

In terms of safety, the Vespa GTV is outfitted with ASR electronic traction control and an anti-lock braking system (ABS).

With its combination of modern features and timeless Vespa elegance, the Vespa GTV 300 is sure to turn heads in the market.
