Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) seems to understand Vietnam’s disappointment because it prefers Indonesia as the first country to manufacture and sell the new SUV, the Mitsubishi XForce. Vietnam deserves to be disappointed because initially the Mitsubishi XFC concept car, which is the forerunner of the Mitsubishi XForce, was first shown in Vietnam in October 2022.
Not to mention the fact, Vietnam will only get the Mitsubishi XForce next year. So it’s still a long time for them to experience the five-passenger SUV first hand.
As if treating this disappointment, Mitsubishi promised to bring the Mitsubishi XForce to Vietnam with more complete features.
“The importance of the Vietnamese market for the XForce model is also reflected in the fact that the Japanese automaker plans to present a version with an additional advanced safety package for domestic customers, namely with more advanced equipment than the XForce model (Indonesia-red),” wrote the Autopro website.
According to Autopro, the Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS) features that will be added to the Mitsubishi XForce include Automatic Emergency Brake Support, Blind Spot Warning, Adaptive Automatic Throttle, and Smart Headlights.
These features will make the Vietnamese version of the Mitsubishi XForce even more complete. Obviously it will be slightly different from the Mitsubishi XForce Indonesia which is equipped with Blind Spot Warning, Hill Start Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Anti-lock Brake System and Active Stability Control features.
Masahiro Ito, MMC’s Chief Product Specialist, admitted that the Mitsubishi XForce’s ADAS features in Indonesia were still incomplete. He instead said that in the future, over time, these features would continue to be completed.
“For ADAS, we are not complete at this time. It’s just that we think that some existing features are as influential as ADAS. For example, Drive Mode can also provide the same technology as ADAS. We hope customers can see this as part of a security system, ” he explained.
He himself said some of the ADAS features in the Indonesian version of the Mitsubishi XForce in the future. Some of them are Forward Collision Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, and others.
“We don’t tell when it will be given, but we will continue to provide more complete features,” said Masahiro Ito.
