Reasons Behind Seres Bringing Huawei Aito M7 and M9 to Indonesia

Seres will introduce the advanced electric cars Huawei Aito M7 and M9 to Indonesia starting next year. Apparently, there are specific reasons behind the presence of these DFSK and Huawei collaboration electric cars in the Indonesian automotive market.

Cing Hok Rifin, Sales & Marketing Director of PT Sokonindo Automobile, the official distributor of DFSK and Seres in Indonesia, stated that Huawei Aito M7 and M9 will first be introduced to the Indonesian public at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2024 (GIIAS) on 18-28 July 2024.

These electric cars will be presented under the Seres brand. This is possible because Aito M7 and M9 are products of collaboration between Seres and Huawei.

“It is a joint development between Seres and Huawei, branded as Aito in China. For Indonesia, it will use the Seres brand, and there are several models that will be showcased,” he said.

Cing Hok Rifin stated that the presence of Aito M7 and M9 will offer a new perspective on electric cars. According to him, electric cars nowadays are like walking smartphones.

Various advantages found in smartphones can already be felt in electric cars. PT Sokonindo Automobile aims to bring this with the introduction of Aito M7 and M9.

“Currently, smartphone manufacturers like Xiaomi are even making electric cars. Their electric cars are well received,” he explained.

They admitted that they have benefited from collaborating with Huawei. This will certainly differentiate them from electric cars currently marketed in Indonesia.

It is known that Aito M7 and M9 have received positive responses in the Chinese automotive market. In that country, they are considered premium electric cars. This momentum is what they aim to bring to the Indonesian market.

As for specifications, Aito M7 is powered by an electric motor with 200 kW or equivalent to 268 horsepower. Its lithium ternary battery specification is 40 kWh, capable of driving the car for 230 kilometers.

The M9 is equipped with an electric motor with a power potential of 230 kW, equivalent to 308 horsepower. The power supply from Huawei’s battery is claimed to be able to drive the car for 630 kilometers.
