PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) launched the Omoda 5 EV at the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) automotive exhibition, at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, Thursday (10/8/2023).
This is a momentum for Chery because it is the first time introducing a battery-based electric car in Indonesia. This is also a form of their commitment to support the Indonesian government’s programs.
“We introduced the Omoda 5 EV at GIIAS 2023 as a model that embodies Chery’s visionary strengths,” said President of PT Chery Sales Indonesia & Vice President of Chery International, Shawn Xu, at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, Thursday (10/8/2023) .
Shawn Xu also said that the presence of the Omoda 5 EV is one of the models that embodies Chery’s future power. Where previously launched Tiggo 8 Pro, Tiggo 7 Pro, and Omoda 5.
“All of these products are a combination of the latest technology with superior quality that can meet the needs of modern Indonesian automotive consumers,” he said.
As for the price, Harry Komara, Vice President of Chery Sales Indonesia, said that it had not yet been finalized. Because the electric car is still in its stages.
“We haven’t finalized the price, because there are still many factors that haven’t been finalized, for example, subsidies and government regulations on electric cars,” said Harry.
“And for CKD, there will be more incentives, but for the price, I’m sure it won’t be long,” concluded Harry.
