He said that the production facilities belonging to the SAIC Group could be utilized by MG Motor Indonesia because they are currently a subsidiary of the SAIC Group.

“Since 2009 MG has been owned by the SAIC Group. This condition allows us to utilize the production facilities owned by the SAIC Group in Cikarang which are already established,” said Arief Syarifudin. ]

Not only utilizing production facilities, Arief Syarifudin said that in the future MG also wants to make Indonesia a research center. It is hoped that in the future, new MG cars will come from Indonesia which will not only suit the market in Indonesia but also in various other countries.

Specifically for the assembly plant, Arief Syarifudin said that there was already a new production line specifically for MG cars, both electric and conventional. He said that the factory would eventually assemble 100,000 MG cars per year.
