Not Stingy, This Millionaire Repairs Bentley Mirror at a Roadside Workshop

An interesting event took place when a millionaire who owns a Bentley had the side mirror of his beloved car broken by a motorcyclist. Instead of taking the luxurious British car to an official workshop, the repair was carried out at a roadside workshop.

This unique incident was reported by Autopro on Wednesday (3/7/2024). The odd event began when the Bentley owner named Trung was driving his beloved car through the streets of Hanoi, Vietnam.

The roads were crowded with motorcycles at the time. Unfortunately, a motorcyclist collided with the left side mirror of Trung’s cherished Bentley.

Before Trung could hold the motorcyclist accountable, the rider fled, leaving Trung to pick up the broken side mirror.

“Instead of repairing it at an official workshop, Trung took the Bentley to a roadside workshop in Do Nguc Du,” reported Autopro.

The mechanic at the workshop was able to quickly fix Trung’s Bentley mirror. The electric motor in the side mirror, which broke due to the collision, was replaced with an electric motor from a BMW side mirror.

Interestingly, once installed, the Bentley mirror functioned normally again. “The structure of BMW and Bentley side mirrors is not too different. It just requires some cable adjustments so that the ECU does not detect any errors,” said the mechanic at the workshop Trung visited.

It turned out that the workshop Trung visited was not an ordinary one. It had been repairing luxury cars like Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW for decades.

The main difference was the much lower repair cost. For example, the cost to repair the broken mirror on Trung’s Bentley was only 1 million dong, equivalent to Rp 641,000.

This would be vastly different if Trung had taken his beloved car to an official workshop. He could have spent tens of millions of rupiah just to repair a broken side mirror.
