British actor Rowan Atkinson is back in the spotlight for selling another sports car he has owned for some time. According to Drive, on Monday (22/4/2024), the actor, famous for his portrayal of the television character Mr. Bean, has sold his Japanese supercar, the Lexus LFA.
The car was sold at an astonishing auction price of 874,995 pounds sterling, equivalent to Rp 17.5 billion. “Rowan Atkinson is known for having some of the most powerful and sought-after cars in the world. This includes the Lexus LFA,” Drive wrote.
The car has a rather unique story. Rowan Atkinson bought it in 2022 when he visited Japan. Unfortunately, he couldn’t quickly bring the car to the UK. It wasn’t until 2023 that he was able to move the white-colored car to the country where he resides.
Interestingly, after driving the car for just a year, Rowan Atkinson decided to sell it. It’s no wonder that the car has a relatively low mileage, reaching only 6,437 kilometers.
The Lexus LFA is no ordinary car. The Japanese sports car was first produced in 2012, with only 500 units distributed worldwide.
Rowan Atkinson’s Lexus LFA is also extremely rare because it has right-hand drive. According to Drive, only 198 right-hand drive Lexus LFA units have been sold.
In terms of specifications, the Lexus LFA is exceptional as it is equipped with a V10 engine with a 4.8-liter cylinder capacity. The mid-mounted engine features high-performance hardware including forged pistons, titanium valves, and titanium rear exhaust.
The engine can propel the Lexus LFA from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.7 seconds. The maximum speed of this sports car is claimed to be 327 kilometers per hour.
Unfortunately, Rowan Atkinson has to part ways with this exceptional Japanese sports car. However, this seems to have become a routine for the actor born on January 6, 1955.
