Mitsubishi has rejected the possibility of a new variant of the Mitsubishi XForce with permanent four-wheel drive or All Wheel Drive (AWD). The suspicion of the presence of this variant is based on the fact that the Mitsubishi XForce has the advantage of having a driving mode feature.
The presence of this feature is believed to be Mitsubishi’s entry point to presenting a new variant of the Mitsubishi XForce with a permanent four-wheel drive system or AWD. It’s just that this possibility was directly denied by Arif Dwiyanto, Department Head of Sales and Training at PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia, this Sunday (10/12/2023).
According to him, the Mitsubishi XForce was made from the start for the Indonesian market and other countries that have the same characteristics. Including the similarity of tropical climates like countries in Southeast Asia.
“This car was made for countries with a two-season climate without snow which requires a good four-wheel drive system. “So there will be no AWD variant,” explained Arif Dwianto.
Despite turning a blind eye to the AWD variant, MMKSI is still looking at the possibility of presenting a Mitsubishi XForce hybrid variant. Bacteri Ngabehi Marzuq, Product Planning Department of PT MMKSI said that the plan to present a hybrid XForce is not impossible, but still looks at consumer needs.
“For that (XForce Hybrid), we are not ruling out the possibility. We will also listen to what customers want,” he said.
MMKSI According to Marzuq, thinking will also look at market trends and desires. “We will also look at what future trends will be. If a hybrid is needed, then we will try to provide it according to customer needs,” he explained.
