It turns out that Mitsubishi is secretly going to test a new electric car. It’s no joke that they will try to carry out the testing process for the Mitsubishi Ek X EV electric car in Indonesia.
President Director of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) Atsushi Kurita said the electric car was brought not for sale. Instead of an electric car that has a twin with the Nissan Sakura, it was presented to see if it fits the needs and conditions in Indonesia.
The reason, according to him, is that the Mitsubishi eK x EV is a car that is only sold in Japan or the Japanese Domestic Car (JDM).
“This car is very popular in Japan. We will try to study it here. However, because of its size we are not sure whether it will be suitable for the Indonesian market,” said Atsushi Kurita.
It’s just that he said that Mitsubishi dealers in Indonesia had actually seen this cute electric car firsthand.
“Our dealers have seen this electric car in Japan firsthand and they are very confident they can sell it,” explained Atsushi Kurita.
In terms of dimensions, the Mitsubishi eK x EV is indeed very small. The dimensions of the length, width and height of the electric car are 3,395 mm x 1,475 mm x 1,655 mm. It’s just that these dimensions are still quite ideal.
This is because the Wuling Air ev electric car was very well received by the people of Indonesia. Even though the dimensions are very small, namely the length, width and height reaching 2,974 mm x 1,505 mm x 1,631 mm.
In Japan, the Mitsubishi eK x EV is sold at prices ranging from 2,398,000 yen (equivalent to Rp. 275 million) to 2,932,600 yen (Rp. 336.5 million). This price is quite competitive with the price of the Wuling Air ev, which is sold in the price range of Rp. 243 million to Rp. 299 ,5 million.
Apart from that, the Mitsubishi eK x EV has many advantages. The small electric car has the ability to cover a distance of 180 km on a single battery charge, so it is enough for everyday use. The battery has a capacity of 20 kilowatts (kWh).
Charging the battery is also quite easy. There are two modes that can be done, namely regular charging which takes about 8 hours to reach full charge, and fast charging which takes 40 minutes to reach a power volume of up to 80 percent.
The electric car also has three driving modes – namely Normal, Eco and Sport – and is equipped with a number of advanced features, both supporting comfort and safety. Starting from Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Grip Control, to MI-PILOT parking support features embedded in it.
In addition, there is Mitsubishi Connect which is useful to support a safe, secure and comfortable driving experience. This feature consists of a series of advanced features such as SOS Emergency Assistance, Vehicle Status Report, and others.
