Mitsubishi Fuso Sales Targets for eCanter, 10 Units Minimal

PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (KTB), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Fuso in Indonesia, targets the first electric truck sales in Indonesia, the Mitsubishi Fuso eCanter, to reach a minimum of 10 units this year. Aji Jaya, Sales and Marketing Director of PT KTB, told reporters on Thursday (14/3/2024) that the sales of Mitsubishi Fuso eCanter will begin in July 2024.

In the planned launch, they will also announce the price of the Mitsubishi Fuso eCanter. “As an initial stage, we aim for at least 10 units. But I am confident that the sales will exceed that,” said Aji Jaya.

He believes that the Mitsubishi Fuso eCanter electric truck will provide significant advantages compared to conventional trucks. One of the most important is the ability of electric trucks to reduce operational costs.

According to him, electric trucks like the Mitsubishi Fuso eCanter do not require high fuel and maintenance costs. The electric trucks imported from Japan do not require fuel and lubricants. Moreover, they do not require special components to support the performance of commercial vehicles, such as filters.

“Because everything is powered by electricity, in fact, the maintenance costs become cheaper,” explained Aji Jaya.

He said that previously KTB had also conducted Proof of Concept (PoC) cooperation for the Mitsubishi Fuso eCanter with eight companies in Indonesia. “Based on the results of the PoC we conducted, the response was good,” said Aji.

According to him, the trial results with several partners went smoothly without any obstacles. From the partners who have tested the Mitsubishi Fuso eCanter, some are interested in immediately purchasing this environmentally friendly truck.

“There are already some who are very interested in purchasing this unit,” he said.

During the PoC activities, they provided a lot of input for the eCanter. And this input is valuable feedback. “We follow up. If they are interested, we follow up as prospects,” he concluded.
