Eurokars Mazda Indonesia (EMI) launched a new SUV, the Mazda CX-60, this Wednesday (26/7/2023). This car is a breath of fresh air in the midst of an era of increasingly widespread electrification and smaller conventional car engines.
The Indonesian people currently do not have many choices due to the increasing price of fuel and the high demand for environmental awareness. It’s no wonder that in the end many of them prefer cars with small engines and electric cars.
“We are different, we want to invite people to feel the quality that our cars have. The essence of the car is to drive. If you don’t drive, the essence of the car is the same as taking public transportation,” said Ricky Thyo, Managing Director of PT EMI.
He even said the Mazda CX-60 would be a flagship car for Mazda. This means that the car, which is the most expensive compared to other Mazdas, will even become the pride of the Hiroshima-based automotive company, Japan.
One thing that stands out the most is the power. This car is indeed as if mocking electric cars and small engined cars. The Mazda CX-60 that greets the Indonesian people is equipped with an inline six-cylinder engine with a capacity of 3.3 liters.
The engine is then combined with mild-hybrid technology with a capacity of 48V. This machine can pour out a very tempting power of 284 PS at 5,000 RPM rotation and maximum torque of 450 Nm at 2,000 RPM rotation.
All of this power and torque is sent to Mazda’s signature permanent four-wheel drive system via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Of course that will make anyone who drives the Mazda CX-60 feel a pleasant driving experience.
“Why do people like to buy Ferrari because they like the power and dynamics. So the Mazda CX-60 concept is like that,” said Ricky Thio.
Like Ferrari, the Mazda CX-60 does have a very beautiful design. The SUV has adopted the design of the seventh generation Mazda which makes it much different from the Mazda cars sold in Indonesia today.
It is also Mazda’s first model to be built on the Skyactiv Multi-Solution Scalable Architecture with an elongated front engine layout.
In terms of kit, the Singapore-spec CX-60 comes standard with 20-inch wheels (with 235/50 profile tires), adaptive LED headlamps, powered tailgate with hands-free access, powered sliding panoramic sunroof, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. , windshield-projected head-up display, 12.3-inch infotainment screen (with wired Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay), 12-speaker Bose sound system, leather seats, keyless entry and start and powered front seats.
As for the safety and driver assistance systems, the SUV is equipped with front and rear parking sensors, seven airbags, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitor, front and rear traffic warning, 360 degree camera with vision. view, front and rear autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.
