Mandalika Circuit Enters the 2025 Car Racing Calendar

The Pertamina Mandalika Circuit in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has officially entered the 2025 Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS car racing calendar.

“This is a historic moment for the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, which will host the popular GT3 multi-brand car racing event in Asia,” said MGPA Director Priandhi Satria in a written statement in Central Lombok, Friday.

This achievement not only solidifies Mandalika Circuit’s position as an international-class circuit but also adds to its accolades in hosting prestigious international racing events. The people of Indonesia take great pride in having their beloved circuit become a focal point in the international motorsports scene. With the presence of Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia, Mandalika Circuit will gain even more global recognition, showcasing Indonesia’s beauty and potential.

“Hosting international events demonstrates MGPA’s commitment to the advancement of motorsports in Indonesia and as a world-class circuit,” he said. This pride is felt by all levels of society who see how Indonesia, especially Lombok, can successfully host world-class events.

Hosting the Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia highlights the readiness of the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit to organize other international events. “This will further strengthen our position as one of the most beautiful circuits in the world,” he said. With a length of 4.3 kilometers and 17 corners, the circuit has hosted international championships such as MotoGP and the FIM Superbike World Championship since the end of 2021.

Fanatec GT Asia will be the first international four-wheel racing series to take place at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, with over 30 GT3 supercars competing in May. “Indonesia will become the sixth country to host Fanatec GT Asia since the championship was formed in 2017,” he said. In addition to Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, and China, which currently host the series, it was also held in South Korea in 2019.

Benjamin Franassovici, Championship Director of SRO Motorsports, said GT racing at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit will be spectacular. “I have visited this circuit several times and am always amazed by the beauty of Lombok as well as the quality and facilities,” he said. This further adds to the pride of the Indonesian people, as Mandalika Circuit is not only recognized by international drivers and teams but also by fans and spectators from various parts of the world.

With the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit included in the calendar for next season, he is confident that it will become a very popular series. “This announcement is the result of years of hard work, and it is incredible to establish Indonesia’s position in the Fanatec GT Asia calendar,” he added.
