Toyota is starting to gradually release new images of their newest SUV which will go head-to-head with the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. After presenting a teaser image of the back of the car, Toyota is now showing the front.
There are many interesting things that can be seen from the front of the car which is planned to be released on Wednesday (6/9/2023) tomorrow. At least the new image answers the various mysteries that accompany the presence of Toyota’s new SUV.
Including the matter of the Toyota Century luxury sedan platform which is used as the basis for development.
This can be seen from the new car logo, namely the Golden Phoenix. The logo is known to only be used on the Toyota Century sedan.
Not a single Toyota car, except for the Toyota Century, uses this logo. So we can be sure that the new SUV was indeed developed from the Toyota luxury sedan, which is only sold in Japan.
The logo sits within a rectangular grid with bold edges and a distinctive insert featuring a polyhedral pattern. Toyota also shows a solid section on the grill side.
In this section, the grille protrudes slightly and is flanked by separate LED headlights with J-shaped lighting characteristics.
Previously, based on the first teaser, it was also known that Toyota’s new SUV would have a blocky body shape reminiscent of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. Toyota really wants to enter the ultra-luxurious car segment, which has yet to be filled by brands from Japan.
This is also in line with Toyota’s desire to change the image of the Toyota Century, which is too well known as a super-luxury sedan. They want the car to be present in the form of an ultra-luxurious SUV.
Simon Humphries, Chief Branding Officer (CBO) of Toyota Motor Corp., previously said that Toyota needs to expand the target market segment.
One way is to change the paradigm of the Toyota Century, which is well known as the most luxurious sedan. “The Toyota Century is already known as a car that provides the best chauffeured experience. However, the car also needs to evolve as we journey into the future,” he stressed.
