Japanese modification house, DAMD, is trying to go against the grain by modifying the Suzuki Jimny with a retro appearance. In total there are two Suzuki Jimny which are dressed up in such a way that it has a strong 1980s car feel.
Autoblog reported, Friday (29/12/2023), the two modified Suzuki Jimny cars will later be presented at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon which will be held in January 2024. The two cars themselves are named Little 5 and Little Delta.
“The names Little 5 and Little Delta are inspired by two legendary rally cars, namely the Renault 5 Turbo and Lancia Delta,” explained Autoblog.
The modifications made by DAMD are said to be going against the grain because the appearance of the car is very different from the current Suzuki Jimny modification style. Usually Suzuki Jimny owners dress up their beloved car so that it looks as similar as possible to the Mercedes-Benz G-Class.
There are even Suzuki Jimny owners who have changed the appearance of this cute SUV from Japan with futuristic ornaments. Well, the method used by DAMD is very different.
They changed the default Suzuki Jimny grille with the car grille that was their inspiration. For example, the Little 5 appears with the typical Renault 5 Turbo grille and the Little Delta is equipped with the typical Lancid Delta grille.
The rest of the design between Little 5 and Little Delta is no different. Both have been given large over fenders so they can accommodate wider and bigger tires.
Likewise with the wings on the back so that the appearance is more striking.
Unfortunately DAMD does not show the interior of the car. If you really want to present a retro feel, the interior also needs to follow that style.
Apart from still not releasing the interior, DAMD also did not announce the technical specifications of the Little 5 and Little Delta. However, it is certain that the car still uses two engine options, namely a 658 cc three-cylinder engine with turbo and a 1.5 liter four-cylinder engine.
