Indonesian Electric Motorcycle Market Welcomes Vision.ev from IMOTO

IMOTO Indonesia is shaking up the premium electric motorcycle segment with the introduction of the Vision.ev.

This move is considered unique because the electric motorcycle market in Indonesia has primarily thrived in the middle-low segment with prices below IDR 13 million, a segment IMOTO has already tapped into.

This time, however, IMOTO is venturing into a different segment by offering the domestically produced Vision.ev.

Doddy Lukito, Co-Founder of IMOTO Indonesia, announced plans to produce 1,000 units of the Vision.ev electric motorcycle per month starting in the first quarter of 2025.

“The Vision.ev, which will be produced in Cikarang, will have a production capacity of 1,000 units per month,” said Doddy Lukito in Jakarta on Tuesday (16/7/2024).

Additionally, the factory is capable of increasing production capacity to 2,000 units per month if it receives a positive response from domestic consumers.

This optimism is based on the positive reception of two-wheeled vehicles in Indonesia, which are the main choice for many people.

The launch of Vision.ev by IMOTO adds to the options of electric two-wheeled vehicles in Indonesia, providing more choices for the public to use emission-free vehicles.

“With the various advantages we present in Vision.ev, we believe this product will become an efficient and environmentally friendly transportation solution,” explained Doddy.

This vehicle is claimed to address various consumer concerns regarding EVs, such as fast charging, battery life, range, and motor performance, which are expected to accelerate the adoption of EVs.

“Vision.ev is the solution for those seeking innovation and sustainability in transportation,” he added.

Vision.ev not only offers an environmentally friendly motorcycle but also comes equipped with advanced technology that supports a sustainable lifestyle.

Seeing the future of Indonesia’s automotive industry leaning towards electric vehicles, IMOTO is committed to continuously innovating in products and services that support carbon-free mobility with low adoption costs.

“We believe IMOTO will become a Zero Carbon company by 2035 by continuing to develop fast-charging battery technology and environmentally friendly products. Our commitment is to provide clean, green, economical, and efficient mobility for the Indonesian public,” said Antony Lesmana, Founder of IMOTO Indonesia.

Vision.ev is equipped with fast-charging technology that allows the battery to be fully charged in 30 minutes from 20 percent to 80 percent with a 5.7 kWh battery capacity.

This electric motorcycle also features various advanced technologies such as a touchscreen display, infotainment system, keyless entry, as well as applications for tracking, geofencing, and fleet management, providing convenience for its users.

However, IMOTO has yet to disclose the price of the electric motorcycle. They might be assessing the market first, especially competitors like Alva, who have already entered the premium electric motorcycle segment.
