Yamaha Motor Company (YMC) appointed PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Mfc. (YIMM) as the production base for the MT-07 big motorbike (MOGE) for the European market. This is a form of YIMM’s success in exporting more than 2 million motorbikes to more than 40 countries.
YIMM was appointed by YMC to be the production base for the CBU model, MT-07 which is intended for the European market. This is the first time YIMM has produced CBU motorbikes from the MT Series family.
To officially mark the first export of the MT-07, a ceremony was held on Monday (18/9/2023), at the YIMM head office, Pulogadung, East Jakarta. This proves that YIMM is capable of producing motorbikes with engine capacities above 250 cc.
Dyonisius Beti, President Director & CEO of YIMM said that his party is proud to be able to produce motorbikes with an engine capacity of 700 cc. This is also proof that Indonesian production has been recognized for its quality in the European market.
“This is one of the important moments in the history of Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing, in producing the first large motorbike category in the 700 cc class,” said Dyon in an official statement.
This product complements the MT Series production line that has been made at YIMM starting from MT-15, MT-25, and MT-03. Dyon revealed that YMC Japan entrusted YIMM to produce the MT-07, indicating the transfer of high technology to Indonesian workers.
“Our target market is to export to many European countries. This means that Yamaha Indonesia’s production quality is high. “Exports from Indonesia must be able to further strengthen and maintain the top market share position,” he said.
The MT-07 is a big bike, has a typical MT design that emphasizes the Hyper Naked character of the motorbike. This motorbike uses LED projector lights which increase visibility with maximum lighting, equipped with DRL and LED turn signals.
