Hyundai Motor Company, represented by PT Hyundai Motor Indonesia (HMID), handed over 148 Hyundai cars to the organizing committee for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia 2023. The handover of the cars was carried out symbolically at the Jakarta International Stadium, Jakarta, Tuesday (7/ 11/2023) this.
The cars handed over by Hyundai for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia include the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Hyundai Ioniq 6, Hyundai Stargazer, Hyundai Creta and Hyundai Palisade.
Woojune Cha, President Director of PT HMID, admitted that he was proud that Hyundai could be part of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia 2023. According to him, this effort is proof of Hyundai’s strong commitment to supporting the young generation to achieve their potential, especially in the field of football which has become a problem. one of the most popular sports in the world, including in Indonesia.
“We have high hopes that the presence of the Ioniq 6, Ioniq 5 and other vehicle models from Hyundai will be able to ensure the smooth running of the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia as well as support young Indonesians in achieving their dreams of achieving gold in the football championship,” said Woojune Cha.
Meanwhile, Nick Brown, Director of Commercial Partnerships at FIFA, said that this is not the first time this collaboration between Hyundai and FIFA has taken place. In fact, the two of them have collaborated very frequently over the past 24 years.
Hyundai is known to have sponsored dozens of official FIFA competitions, including five editions of the FIFA World Cup. It is even known that Hyundai will continue its collaboration with FIFA until 2030.
For the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia, he admitted that he was happy that Hyundai could deploy their newest, environmentally friendly electric cars, namely the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Hyundai Ioniq 6.

It is known that the FIFA U-17 World Cup is a world-level youth football tournament which has been regularly held every two years since 1985. This year’s edition is special because for the first time Indonesia is hosting the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia, as well as marking Garuda Muda team’s debut in the tournament.
The 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia 2023 will be participated by 24 teams and will take place from 10 November to 2 December in four cities, namely Jakarta (Jakarta International Stadium), Bandung (Jalak Harupat Stadium), Surabaya (Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium), and Surakarta (Manahan Stadium).
