Actor Tom Cruise always displays various dangerous scenes in every Mission Impossible film. The new Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One is no exception, which will be released on July 12, 2023.
In that film, Tom Cruise opens the film with a very dangerous scene, namely jumping on a dirt bike from a deadly cliff in Norway. Not just jumping, he even did another scene, namely skydiving.
The Bike World Web site is so dangerous that it even mentions that this scene is the most dangerous stunt scene ever presented in a film.
“Amazingly, Tom Cruise did this scene on the first day of filming,” wrote Web Bike World.
This was actually done as a preventative measure. If it fails and makes Tom Cruise crazy, then the filming process will be temporarily stopped until Tom Cruise is completely healed. In addition the scene will be replaced.
Conversely, if successful, the filming process will continue according to schedule. In fact, this phenomenal scene is still the opening scene of the latest Mission Impossible film.
“So, if you really want to continue or not, it really depends on the first day,” Tom Cruise was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
According to Wade Eastwood, the stunt coordinator, Tom Cruise did a lot of practice so that the special action was successfully recorded. He said before the recording process began Tom Cruise practiced 500 times for skydiving and 13,000 times doing motorcycle jump scenes.
“After he really felt up to it, we then tried to simulate the scene in three dimensions to predict how Tom Cruise would do the scene,” he explained.
Mile Daisher, coach of Tom Cruise said the scene was very dangerous. No one is desperate to ride a motorbike and jump off a cliff.
Even to jump Tom Cruise is required to ride a motorbike with a very small ramp. If it falls, Tom Cruise will roll over and be thrown off the cliff.
“If it fails, the results are only two, serious injury or death,” explained Mile Daisher.
Amazingly Tom Cruise actually managed to do the same scene six times. This happened because Tom Cruise still felt less than perfect to do it/
“I believe this is the most dangerous stunt scene in cinema history,” said John DeVore, an extreme sports activist who was involved in the making of the film.
