The Harley-Davidson X440, a cheap motorbike made by Harley-Davidson, was immediately sought after by many people. Orders have even reached more than 25,000 people.
This was confirmed by the distributor of Harley-Davidson X440 in India, Hero MotoCorp, quoted by HT Auto, Wednesday (9/8/2023). They said this figure exceeded expectations since the big US motorbike was launched on July 4, 2023.
Interestingly, 65 percent of orders are for the highest model, namely the Harley-Davidson X440 S, which costs 269,500 Rupees or the equivalent of Rp.49.4 million. On the other hand, the entry-level model, the Harley-Davidson X440 Denim, is priced at 239,500 Rupees or Rp. 43.9 million.
Niranjan Gupta, CEO of Hero MotoCorp, said he was pleased with the customer’s response to the Harley-Davidson X440. He admits that he is proud that many people like Harley-Davidson motorcycles made by Hero MotoCorp.
He even promised the Harley-Davidson X440 would not be the last model they would make. Furthermore, there will be a new iconic motorbike from Harley-Davidson which will add to their portfolio.
“This is just our first step in the premium motorcycle segment,” said Niranjan Gupta.
The high number of orders made Hero MotoCorp no longer open order slots. This is because they must move quickly to produce the motorbike starting in September 2023. It is planned that the big motorbike will only be delivered to customers in October 2023.
“The biggest demand is for the most expensive models. This means that customers are willing to pay a higher price for the model they like,” explained Niranjan Gupta.
For those who haven’t been able to get a cheap Harley-Davidson, there’s no need to be disappointed. Because Hero MotoCorp will soon increase the production capacity of their factory in Rajasthan, India. Later, after the order for the first wave has been fulfilled, the order slot will be opened again.
It is known that Harley-Davidson has a very attractive appearance because it is inspired by the Harley-Davidson XR 1200. The classic touch is implied through the use of perfectly round headlights combined with mirrors that have a similar design. It didn’t stop there, the exhaust model was also designed to be perpendicular to the silencer which was quite large.
Even though it carries a classic style, all the lighting on the Harley-Davidson X440 already uses LEDs. This allows maximum lighting with a much longer lamp life.
In the legs sector, the Harley-Davidson X440 is equipped with two-tone alloy wheels that give an elegant and luxurious impression. While the front suspension uses upside down and double shockbreaker at the rear.
This motorbike is equipped with disc brakes at the front and rear which are also equipped with a dual-channel ABS system. This adds to the impression of safety on the driver when driving at high enough speeds.
From the kitchen runway sector, the Harley-Davidson X440 is equipped with a two-cylinder engine with a capacity of 440 cc, and this is the largest in its class. This engine can produce 35 bhp of power and 30 Nm of peak torque with a 6-speed manual transmission.
