The X-Wedge has recently become the center of attention in the automotive world because it is a big motorbike from China that wants to shake up Harley-Davidson. No kidding, at the CIMAMotor Chongqing 2023 event, X-Wedge released five fantastic big motorbikes.
The five are Ranger RX2000, Rover RL2000, Walker WR1000, Voyager VS2000, and Vanguard VT2000.
“X-Wedge is a new brand owned by Huansong Industrial Group which has been running since 1988,” said Rideapart, Thursday (21/9/2023).
Interestingly, the X-Wedge actually comes with a large motorbike design and performance that is unusual for Chinese products. Upon further investigation, it turns out that the X-Wedge is actually a collaborative product from several countries.
Take for example the design which was apparently made by KISKA Studio. This design studio from Austria has made various cool motorbikes such as Husqvarna, KTM, and Gas Gas.
Through the official KISKA Studio website, it was stated that the collaboration in making the X-Wedge started with an offer from HISUN Motors. The motorbike company from China wants KISKA Studio to make a big motorbike that is very different from those already available on the Chinese automotive market.
“This motorbike is the latest in a series of American-style large capacity street motorbikes. Designed and developed by KISKA for HISUN Motors, this is an ambitious and unique project. The name is taken from the unique configuration of the patented X engine,” wrote the official KISKA Studio website.
The X-Wedge project started with a request from HISUN Motors who wanted KISKA to design several motorbikes inspired by the power of V-Twin engines and large motorbikes typical of the United States. It’s just that HISUN Motors still wants the X-Wedge design to have an international flavor.
“That’s where we put the full force of KISKA to work. Extensive research yields insights gleaned from thorough customer interviews and detailed competitor testing,” explained KISKA.
Apart from exterior design, HISUN Motors also felt the need to involve the V-Twin engine supplier in America, namely S&S Cycle. It is known that S&S Cycle is not a foreign name for Harley-Davidson fans.
The United States company is a provider of engines and after market components for Harley-Davidson. So there’s no need to doubt the performance of the big X-Wedge motorbike.
Take for example the X-Wedge Ranger RX2000 which on paper is equipped with a V-Twin engine with a cylinder capacity of 2.0 liters. This machine can produce 103 horsepower and a maximum torque of 158 Nm. The same power as the Harley-Davidson Dyna Street Bob.
For the Chinese market, the X-Wedge makes the five motorbikes look different. Each adapts to existing needs. For example, the X-Wedge Walker WR1000n looks Can-Am style.
Likewise with the X-Wedge VS2000 which is actually a big tandem motorbike. So consumers just have to choose which big motorbike they like.
The big names behind the X-Wedge certainly show HISUN Motors’ seriousness in presenting the best products. Unfortunately, it is not known whether the big Chinese motorbike will also be sold outside China.
What is certain is that starting in 2024, Chinese people will be able to order the X-Wedge. Unfortunately, the official price has not been announced by HISUN Motors.
