Toyota presents three models of the Toyota Rangga Concept at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2023 (GIIAS). One of the most interesting is the Toyota Rangga EV Charger Mobile Service.
The presence of this mobile battery car is very unique considering that Toyota is still not all out selling electric cars. Currently, the pure electric car sold by Toyota is the Toyota bZ4X.
Lexus, a company that is also part of the Toyota group, only has two electric cars, namely the Lexus UX 300e and the Lexus RZ 450e.
Although there are not many steps taken by Toyota to make a mobile battery car based on the Toyota Rangga, it should be appreciated. Moreover, in terms of completeness, the mobile battery car is classified as very complete. It’s not just as long as you can charge an electric car that needs help.
This can be seen from the size of the battery carried by the mobile battery car. There are at least two large batteries ready to supply electric energy to electric cars whose batteries have run out. The two batteries are combined with other components so that it looks like a generator.
Furthermore, Toyota also provides a very complete type of plug. This can be seen from the two types of output plugs available, namely AC Type 2 and CCS2.
So all kinds of electric cars are ready to be given “extra life” by this mobile battery car from Toyota.
Interestingly, Toyota does not fully dedicate this light commercial car to helping electric motorbikes that only run out of batteries. The car also carries out another additional task, namely a mobile workshop.
So the car is at the disposal of all Toyota cars, conventional and electric, to get periodic maintenance or special assistance on site.
The equipment provided is also very complete. Starting from storing the fast moving components needed to special equipment such as jacks, spare tires, and others that are often needed if the car has problems in the middle of the road.
This ability deserves to be appreciated. So the car is not only a mobile battery car but also a mobile workshop. At least that implies the very large carrying capacity of the Toyota Rangga.
