Ford’s Strongest Car Tries to Disturb Porsche and Lamborghini

Ford apparently did not remain silent as he watched world-famous sports cars become kings of the Nurburgring Circuit, Germany. Currently king on the Circuit
The Nurburgring, Germany has its own prestige.

Many sports car companies in the world are trying to make cars as fast as possible so they can go around the circuit in Germany quickly. Currently there are three sports cars that have succeeded in becoming the fastest, namely the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, and Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series.

This apparently made Ford hot. They secretly made a car that could disturb these three cars, namely the Ford Mustang GTD. “The Ford Mustang GTD will present a new concept of a sports car. We don’t make road cars to be sports cars. We make sports cars to be used on the road,” said Jim Farley, CEO of Ford.

“I will try this car directly and challenge automotive bosses in the world to bring their best sports car,” boasted Jim Farley.

The Ford Mustang GTD, from a technical perspective, does have strong capital to challenge sports cars that have set records on the Nurburgring Circuit. The car was developed from their legal racing car, the Ford Mustang GT3.

From there, Ford re-engineered the supercharged V8 engine with a cylinder capacity of 5.8 liters which is usually installed in the Ford Mustang GT3. Now the machine can produce 800 horsepower. This power achievement makes the Ford Mustang GTD the most powerful Ford car in the history of the company with the oval logo.

In terms of control and dynamics, Ford is also trying to make the Ford Mustang GTD a racing car that is very easy to control. Including on the racing circuit.

This is done by installing a semi-active suspension that can vary the spring rate and height of the car. The suspension has also been improved so that it can be adjusted according to the rider’s preferences.
Ford has also made this car as light as possible, with many parts relying on carbon fiber material, such as the hood, fenders, cover that replaces the trunk lid, door frames, front splitter, rear diffuser and roof.

Apart from being light, the design is of course very aerodynamic, which was the main focus point in developing the GTD. Notable new components include a front splitter as well as a ventilated hood and front fenders. To further highlight its presence, Ford also offers an active rear wing mounted on the C-pillar that is hydraulically controlled.
