Focus on Electrification, Suzuki Discontinues Ignis in Indonesia

Suzuki Ignis has finally bid farewell to the Indonesian market. After its debut in 2017, Suzuki Ignis is no longer being sold in Indonesia and has been discontinued.

PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) announced that the sales of the Suzuki Ignis in the Indonesian market must be stopped. The company will now focus on marketing electrified vehicles.

“Yes, it’s true, Ignis has been discontinued from the Indonesian market,” said Harold Donnel, Marketing Director 4W of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales SIS.

The decision to halt the marketing of the Suzuki Ignis in Indonesia is to allow the company to concentrate more on electrified vehicles, which are considered to have a promising market.

“According to the corporate plan, we are gradually focusing more on electrified products, such as the XL7 hybrid and Ertiga hybrid, and strengthening the presence of locally made models,” Harold said.

The Suzuki Ignis car was launched in 2017. This city car, a rival to the Daihatsu Sirion and Honda Brio, has survived for 7 years in the Indonesian automotive market.

The vehicle, measuring 3,700 mm x 1,690 mm x 1,595 mm with a wheelbase of 2,435 mm, is equipped with a K12M 4 Cylinder 16 valve engine with a capacity of 1,197 cc. This car is capable of producing 83 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm.

The safety features embedded in this car include antilock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, dual SRS airbags, side impact beam, Isofix, and immobilizer.
