EV Ecosystem Become Crucial Part in 2024 APBN

The electric vehicle ecosystem is one of the focuses that the government continues to develop. This is proven by its inclusion in the 2024 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget or Anggaran Pendapatan Belanja Negara (APBN).

The government continues to strive to expand the use of electric vehicles to achieve carbon neutrality. However, the ecosystem is from upstream to downstream, so it is included in the 2024 APBN to support the creation of an electric vehicle ecosystem.

“The APBN will also continue to encourage economic transformation, including downstreaming for both electric cars and batteries,” said Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani at the Press Conference Ratifying the Bill into the 2024 APBN Law which was broadcast on the Indonesian Ministry of Finance’s YouTube.

She also said the formation of an ecosystem ranging from material mining to battery factories needs to be carried out in Indonesia. Apart from that, attracting investors to build an electric car factory in Indonesia is also important.

The reason is, this will make the price of electric cars offered more affordable and the supply abundant. However, the government must also ensure that Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) are available throughout Indonesia.

“State income of IDR 2,802 trillion (in 2024) will be used for various activities to support economic transformation, emphasize and improve Indonesia’s development index, especially from the human side,” said Sri Mulyani.

Anugraha ‘Nuki’ Dezmercoledi, Executive Director of the Electric Mobility Ecosystem Association, said that currently the number of charging stations is very minimal. Therefore, he asked the government to simplify regulations for private parties who want to work together to build SPKLU.

“The main goal is to accelerate electrification, so that there is no ‘egg first or chicken first’ situation. “Infrastructure must be added, so that consumers (electric vehicles) don’t have difficulties,” said Nuki in Tangerang, some time ago.

For your information, the cost of charging electric vehicles is listed in the Ministerial Decree (Kepmen) of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 182.K/Tl.04/MEM.S/2023, concerning Electrical Charging Service Fees at Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations.

The Directorate General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Havidh Nazif, explained that SPKLU with fast charging technology will cost a maximum of IDR 25 thousand. Meanwhile, the maximum charging fee for SPKLU ultrafast charging reaches IDR 57 thousand, which is valid for one charge.
