An interesting achievement was made by the Chinese-made SUV, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, recently. The SUV, which is also sold in Indonesia, managed to achieve a score of five stars in the crash test held by the Australian NCAP (ANCAP).
As reported from the official ANCAP website, on Wednesday (20/12/2023), the Chert Tiggo 7 Pro received very high scores in four categories. For adult passenger protection, after being crash tested the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro received a score of 35.52 out of 40.
Likewise in the child passenger protection category with an achievement score of 42.74 out of a maximum score of 49. In another category, namely Safety Assist, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pr0 managed to achieve a percentage of 86 percent because it got a score of 15.54 out of a maximum score of 18.
In the final category of protection for road users, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro managed to score 45.66 out of a maximum score of 63. After the accumulation, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro was entitled to a five-star ANCAP score.
“The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro will be introduced in Australia in October 2023. These results apply to all variants sold in Australia,” said the official ANCAP statement.
However, there is another test that is no less unique. Cars Guide stated that the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro was also tested so that passengers could get out of the vehicle safely if it was submerged in floodwater.
In this scenario, Chery demonstrated that the vehicle remained functional for the period of time it took ANCAP for the occupants to escape. Doors and windows open even when submerged in air, with uninterrupted window operation.
The maximum assessment cannot be denied because the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro has very capable safety features and technology. In Australia, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is equipped with six airbags.
These airbags are provided for passengers in the first and second-row seats. Apart from that, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is also equipped with a complete Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS). The Chinese car is also equipped with autonomous braking and lane-keep support which operates from speeds of 65 kilometers per hour to 150 kilometers per hour.
These specifications are the same as the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro which is sold in Indonesia. This means that Chery does not differentiate between the features they provide to all their customers in various global automotive markets such as Australia and Indonesia.
Currently, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro in Indonesia is available in four variants. The four are Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Comfort at IDR 369.5 million, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Luxury at IDR 399.5 million, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Premium at IDR 430.5 million, and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Premium Two-Tone at IDR 435. 5 million.
