Bogor Police’s Special Car Equipped with Futuristic Technology

The Bogor Police recently equipped their flagship Crime Scene Processing car with the latest and futuristic technology. Special car that often used in analyzing incidents are now equipped with Traffic Accident Analysis (TAA) technology.

The TAA technology is made by the German technology company, Leica. The technology itself is a three-dimensional laser scanner specially made by Leica.

From the video uploaded by the Instagram account @tmcpolresbogor, it can be seen that the tool was brought with special equipment. The tool is only used if there has been a traffic accident which really needs in-depth analysis.

The tool itself consists of a monopod and a special tool made by Leica that can perform three-dimensional scanning at the scene or event.

“Using the Leica 3D Laser Scanner technology, TKP officers can analyze before, shortly until after the accident occurred in 3D animation by looking at collision and braking marks, as well as the position of the vehicles involved in the accident at the scene,” wrote the Instagram account @tmcpolresbogor, Monday ( 7/8/2023) this.

Based on a search by MNC Portal Indonesia on the official Leica website, this particular tool is the Leica RTC360. The tool indeed functions to analyze an event or matter that occurs on the road such as accidents, collisions, and so on.

The Leica RTC360 will scan the event location with three-dimensional laser technology. After using the factual data at the crime scene, later the tool will produce three-dimensional data regarding the event or case being investigated.

“Leica RTC360 offers three-dimensional data that is timely and actionable at a glance. RTC360 generates easily shareable three-dimensional reports that will have a positive impact on the investigative process,” wrote Leica on their official website.

The Leica RTC360 is currently being sold at a pretty fantastic price of USD 73,000 or reaching IDR 1.1 billion. Even more expensive than the TKP processing car used to carry the tool, namely the Toyota Hiace, which costs only IDR 554.8 million.
