The Barbie film has had an impact on used car sales. Today many people are looking for a used Chevrolet Corvette like the one that Barbie drives.
Many of them are also eager to find a classic pink or pink Chevrolet Corvette to really look like Barbie. Used car buying and selling site Auto Trader says searches for classic Chevrolet Corvettes on their platform have reached more than 12,000 times.
The search was 120 percent larger than the same period last year. They believe the increase in searches was sparked by the circulation of a Barbie movie trailer featuring a classic pink Chevrolet Corvette.
“The search for pink cars has also increased by up to 93 percent at this time,” said Auto Trader.
It is known that in the Barbie film, the Chevrolet Corvette used was the 1956 Chevrolet Corvette C1. However, according to CNET, the film producer made several changes to the classic open-top Chevrolet Corvette.
For example, conventional machines are replaced with electricity. Likewise with several car components that were removed such as windshield wipers and car mirrors.
“The car is also made smaller than its normal size,” wrote CNET.
As well as making searches for used Chevrolet Corvettes skyrocket, the film Barbie also had a huge impact on Google search sites. Over the past three months searches for Barbie Movie Car have increased 450 percent on Google.
Likewise with other keywords such as Barbie Corvette (80 percent), Pink Corvette (21 percent), and Barbie Car (19 percent).
This means that the Barbie film has succeeded in presenting a very significant trend in the automotive world. Although the main character is a woman who is often considered not too close to the automotive world.
