PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) has finally launched their first Honda electric motorbike, the Honda EM1 e: at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2023, Friday (11/8/2023).
President Director of PT AHM Susumu Mitsuishi said that the presence of the Honda electric motorbike had been very long awaited by the Indonesian people. According to him, they are always committed to meeting consumer demands in Indonesia. One of them is by providing the Honda EM1 e electric motorbike:
“Indonesia is an important market for Honda, so we are very happy to launch this electric motorbike in Indonesia,” he said.
He said that Honda’s first electric motor could meet consumer needs for short and long distances. The reason is that the electric motor can be recharged independently or by exchanging batteries.
Meanwhile, Thomas Widjaja, Executive Vice President of PT AHM, said that the public’s interest in motorcycles continues to grow, including electric motorbikes. For the past four years they have known the Honda PCX Electric electric motorbike. They have also conducted studies on electric motorbikes in Indonesia.
“Honda’s target for electric motorbikes in Indonesia will continue to develop in line with the trend. Kamo is also exploring whether this electric motorbike will be produced in Indonesia,” he said.
He said this Honda electric motorbike can be ordered now. In addition, they will provide an after sales network to support the use of the electric motorbike.
“This motorbike will be available in our dealer network with a special logo, e:,” said Thomas Widjaja.
PT Astra Honda Motor itself sells the electric motorbike at a price of IDR 40 million-IDR 45 million. In detail, the price of motorbikes is in the range of Rp. 30 million-Rp. 33 million, while MPP batteries are in the price range of Rp. 10 million-Rp. 12 million.
