PT Enduro Republik Indonesia (ERI) launched the Yamaha Tenere 700 adventure motorbike which costs the equivalent of three new Daihatsu Ayla. It is known that the Yamaha Tenere 700 is sold in off-road conditions at a price of IDR 450 million or the equivalent of three new Daihatsu Ayla whose prices start at IDR 134 million.
The unique thing is that the Yamaha Tenere 700 that was brought by ERI actually sold a lot right away. Currently, 11 units of the Yamaha Tenere 700 have been ordered from the maximum quota of 13 units this year.
“The quota is 13 units and 11 motorbikes have been ordered. We import these motorbikes in full from Europe and Thailand,” said Yopie Kurniawan, President Director of ERI.
The Yamaha Tenere 700 is currently filling the gap in the middle-class adventure motorbike segment with engines under 1,000 cc. Its appearance is dashing and tough like a Dakar Rally racing motorbike, easily seducing adventure lovers in Indonesia.
Yopi Kurniawan said the Yamaha Tenere 700 is ideal for aged adventurers. Because the adventurous motorbike bearing the tuning fork has a weight that is not so heavy.
“Currently, many adventure motorbike enthusiasts are old and they feel reluctant if they have motorbikes that are too big and heavy,” said Yopie Kurniawan.
He said the weight of the Yamaha Tenere 700 only reached 204 kilograms. Much lighter than big-engined adventure motorbikes like the BMW GS 1200 which weighs up to 263 kilograms.
“We are profiling the average consumer aged over 50 years, so it is necessary to choose a motorbike adventure that is light and not bulky. The Yamaha Tenere 700 is of course the best choice, with a wet weight of only 204 kg,” said Yopie Kurniawan, Director of PT. Enduro Republic of Indonesia.
It is further known that ERI imported the Yamaha Tenere 700 2023 in two versions. Includes Standard and Top Spec versions (the most complete version). The Top Spec version has a TFT speedometer screen which has a Yamaha Communication Control Unit (CCU) so that a smartphone can be connected via the Yamaha MyRide application, while the Standard version still uses a monochrome screen. Then the Top Spec version has ABS menu options, namely ABS On, ABS Off and Rear ABS Off, while the standard version only has ABS On and Off options.
Furthermore, the core of the engine is driven by a high-torque 690 cc 2-cylinder DOHC EU5 compliant engine. The ideal balance of power and control can be maximized through the power of 72 HP/9,000 Rpm and torque of 68 Nm/6,500 Rpm. The transmission is specifically for the 6-speed manual model.
This long-range adventure bike can handle a variety of riding conditions on dirt or tarmac. The compact, tubular chassis and streamlined bodywork offer maximum agility during standing or sitting riding. Not to mention the long travel suspension and spoked wheels give the ability to go wherever it wants.
