Ferrari Film Not Well Accepted, This is The Reason Why

The biographical film about the life story of Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari was considered a box office disaster because it did not make a profit. Autoevolution reported, Wednesday (10/1/2024) that the number of viewers of the film starring Adam Driver for a week only generated income of USD 16 million or around IDR 246.81 billion.

This income is in stark contrast to the films Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom which earned USD 28.1 million or the equivalent of IDR 433.4 billion in the first week of screening.

Even when compared with the film that carries the name Ferrari, the film directed by Michael Mann is far behind. The film Ford v Ferrari, starring Christian Bale, managed to achieve a profit of USD 31 million or around IDR 478.2 billion in the first week of screenings.

This achievement is very ironic considering that the production costs for the film Ferrari were fantastic, reaching USD 95 million or around IDR 1.46 trillion. “Film critics don’t like this film, you could even say that this film is a box office disaster,” said Autoevolution.

Meanwhile, Autoweek said that the film Ferrari did not receive positive appreciation because of the main character, Enzo Ferrari. Many people see Enzo Ferrari as a controversial figure.

His rigid and cruel attitude at work is not considered to be a good example for everyone. Moreover, in the film it is revealed that Enzo Ferrari lived two very different lives.

On the one hand, he has a cold domestic relationship with his legal wife Laura. Elsewhere, he actually looks very enthusiastic when he is with his mistress Lina Lardi.

From these two relationships, Enzo Ferrari has his own offspring. Laura gave birth to a child named Dino and to Lina Lardi a child named Piero was born.

“Enzo Ferrari is not someone who easily gets sympathy from everyone,” wrote Autoweek.
