PO Putra Simalungun (Putra Simas) has a special reason why they finally chose two Hino RM 280 ABS units for their new fleet. In an official statement, Berlinson Sinaga, Main Director of PO Putra Simas, said that the two bus units from Hino were very tough for crossing Sumatra.
“We chose the Hino RM 280 ABS bus because we believe that this bus is tough for crossing Sumatra. We also believe that the reliability of the Hino engine is very reliable,” said Berlinson Sinaga.
It is known that the Hino RM 280 ABS bus belonging to PO Putra Mas will later serve the Medan-Bengkulu route which has uphill and winding terrain. It is believed that your HIno bus can overcome these challenges because it was specifically designed to cross Sumatra.
It is known that the Hino RM 280 ABS is equipped with a 6 cylinder engine with an overheat control system (OCS). OCS technology is believed to be able to prevent engine blow because it is able to maintain stable engine temperature, and the suspension is comfortable for long distance travel.
The newest bus from PO Putra Simas, has a capacity of 34 executive seats with a 2-2 configuration. The passenger seat is also equipped with a leg rest and reclining as well as a wide distance for the comfort of the passenger’s legs.
Apart from that, by using the Hino Bus RM 280 space frame chassis, it can be made with a trunk that passes through the left and right, so that the trunk is wider and can fit large items or motorbikes.

With the addition of 2 units of Hino RM 280 ABS buses, PO. Putra Simas is now the first autobus company in Bengkulu to use Hino RM 280 ABS buses in Bengkulu. The RM 280 ABS is Hino’s newest model in the Euro4 line up.
This model is the best-selling model, contributing more than 50% of Hino Bus sales compared to other models. Apart from that, the RM 280 ABS bus also dominates the bus market share in Indonesia, especially on the island of Java, reaching 65%. So this strengthens Hino’s position as the Medium Bus market leader in Indonesia.
