Electric motorbikes are increasingly popular with Indonesian people because their models are increasingly diverse. This helps the government to accelerate the use of electric vehicles to achieve zero carbon emissions by 2060.
The local electric motorbike manufacturer, Charged, has also refreshed a number of models that have been marketed in Indonesia. This is intended to make it increasingly popular with Indonesian consumers, apart from the performance it offers.
For your information, Charged is collaborating with an electric motorbike technology company from Spain, Vmoto. This makes this electric motorbike made in Cikupa, Tangerang, have specifications that cannot be doubted.
The latest variants of electric motorbikes made in Tangerang that were launched are the Rimau Bumble Bee, Rimau Ecru and Maleo Latte. Charged CEO Joel CY Chang hopes that this refresh will make people more interested in switching to electric vehicles.
“The solution for most of Indonesia and Southeast Asia is to accelerate the transition to electric motorbikes. “The challenge is to provide a good alternative in terms of performance, mileage, quality and safety that remains affordable,” said Joel when met in North Jakarta, Wednesday (18/10/2023).
Joel said there are at least 8.8 million people every year who suffer from air pollution. Therefore, he said that the electric motorbike factory in Cikupa uses sustainable energy to reduce emissions.
“This is what Charged Indonesia has done by establishing a factory that is completely powered by renewable energy. “We have fielded more than a thousand electric motorbikes,” said Joel.
The launch of this latest variant was also attended by MotoGP legend, Jorge Lorenzo, as Vmoto’s brand ambassador since 2021. Apart from that, Vmoto President Director Graziano Milone was also present, the two of whom had competed quickly at the Ancol Formula E circuit.
As for specifications, the Rimau Charged electric motorbike can cover 200 kilometers on one full charge with a top speed of 95 km/hour. Charging the battery from 10-100 percent only takes 3 hours and can use two batteries.
Meanwhile, for Maleo, its range reaches 125 kilometers with a top speed of 70 km/hour and can use two batteries. This motorbike is equipped with front and rear disc brakes with CBS (combi brake system) technology.
