Honda Still Brings New Honda City in A Small Market Value

PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) is presenting a surprise by presenting a sedan, the New Honda City. The presence of this new sedan is certainly a surprise considering that the compact sedan market is not that big.

However, this doesn’t stop HPM from refreshing their flagship compact sedan. No joke, this sedan is equipped with a more stylish appearance and complete safety technology, Honda SENSING.

Yusak Billy as Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor said that Honda City already has a special place in Indonesian society. The compact sedan with the upright H logo has been on Indonesian roads for quite a long time and is accepted by the public.

“Honda City is a Honda sedan model that has had loyal fans and consumers for more than 25 years of its presence in Indonesia. “Now, the New Honda City presents various refreshed looks and safety features that will provide added value to meet the needs of Honda consumers in Indonesia,” said Yusak Billy.

It is known that the Honda City first appeared in Indonesia in 1996, as a sedan designed for young professionals with a dynamic lifestyle. Now the Honda City has entered its seventh generation and continues to experience interesting improvements.

Now for the latest model which officially entered Indonesia today, HPM said that the Honda City gets a more attractive design, especially the front grille design, front bumper and LED Fog Light which are increasingly stylish.

Now, the New Honda City uses Full LED Headlights and LED Daytime Running Lights. Meanwhile at the rear of the car, the bumper design looks sharper to add a sporty and elegant impression, which is also further strengthened by the new 16 inch Alloy Wheel design.

Inside the cabin, the New Honda City is now equipped with the latest 4.2 inch Interactive TFT Meter and Auto Headlight feature. In the second row there are two USB C slots which provide passengers with the convenience of charging smartphones.

To support user activities, the New Honda City is equipped with a Walk Away Auto Lock feature which helps lock the vehicle when the user leaves the vehicle. This car is also equipped with a Rear Seat Reminder to remind the driver of items left in the second row.

Safety technology is also abundant as the New Honda City is now equipped with advanced Honda SENSING safety technology. Honda SENSING is a series of safety technologies that provide comprehensive protection for the driver and passengers. This technology will provide warnings and automatically take action to reduce the risk of accidents.

Honda SENSING technology on the New Honda City includes: Collision Mitigation Brake SystemTM (CMBSTM), Auto-High Beam (AHB), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Lead Car Departure Notification System (LCDN), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

It’s just that this car still retains the engine that was previously carried by the seventh generation Honda City. This car still uses a 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine which produces maximum power of 121 PS at 6,600 rpm and maximum torque of 145 Nm at 4,300 rpm.

“The New Honda City offers 3 color choices, namely Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic and Crystal Black Pearl, sold at a price of IDR 399,900,000,” wrote HPM’s official statement.

This car itself was imported directly from Thailand. This is because sales of Honda sedans in the national market are not very large. So the needs can still be met with an import scheme.

Based on GAIKINDO data, throughout January-August 2023, the total sales of Honda sedan cars were 180 Honda City units, 756 Honda Civic units, 57 Honda Civic Type R units, and 327 Honda Accord VTi-L units. Honda’s total sales for the sedan segment reached 1,320 units, around 1.35 percent of total sales of 97,096 during January-August 2023.
