China’s automotive industry, especially two-wheelers, is really growing rapidly. The latest surprise, China now actually has a two-wheeled automotive brand called X-Wedge.
Interestingly, X-Wedge is actually targeting the hobby motorbike segment with large engines and motorbike designs. Yes, the X-Wedge will be in the same pool as the legendary motorbike from the United States, Harley-Davidson.
Rideapart, Tuesday (19/9/2023) said that the X-Wedge was first released on September 9 2023 at the Moexpo Trade Fair 2023, China. Not only did it inaugurate the brand, X-Wedge even immediately released five motorbike models which really stole attention.
The five are Ranger RX2000, Rover RL2000, Walker WR1000, Voyager VS2000, and Vanguard VT2000.
“X-Wedge is a new brand owned by Huansong Industrial Group which has been running since 1988,” said Rideapart.
It cannot be denied that the X-Wedge is very strong with the taste of big motorbikes also offered by Harley-Davidson. Moreover, the motorbikes made by X-Wedge are also equipped with large cylinder engines.
The machine was actually taken from the American company, S&S Cycle. Knowing S&S Cycle is not a foreign name for Harley-Davidson fans. The United States company is a provider of engines and after market components for Harley-Davidson.
So there’s no need to doubt the performance of the big X-Wedge motorbike. Take for example the X-Wedge Ranger RX2000 which on paper is equipped with a V-Twin engine with a cylinder capacity of 2.0 liters. This machine can produce 103 horsepower and a maximum torque of 158 Nm. The same power as the Harley-Davidson Dyna Street Bob.
For the Chinese market, the X-Wedge makes the five motorbikes look different. Each adapts to existing needs. For example, the X-Wedge Walker WR1000n looks Can-Am style.
Likewise with the X-Wedge VS2000 which is actually a big tandem motorbike. So consumers just have to choose which big motorbike they like.
Unfortunately, according to Rideapart, X-Wedge has not released the official prices for the five big motorbikes. Apart from that, there is no information regarding whether the X-Wedge will be sold outside China.
Of course, if it could be marketed outside of China, the X-Wedge would be an attractive choice apart from Harley-Davidson, which has dominated the large long-distance motorbike or cruiser market for too long.
