Rolls-Royce Cullinan Rival from Toyota Will Debuts September 6, 2023

Toyota released a teaser image of a new SUV that is believed to be a strong challenger to luxury SUVs from England, Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Bentley Bentayga. The teaser image was distributed by Toyota via their official website, Wednesday (30/8/2023).

“Toyota will present a new car on September 6, 2023. The event will be broadcast live through Toyota’s various available platforms,” wrote Toyota’s official website.

Unfortunately, not much can be expected from the teaser image released by Toyota. The picture only shows the hands of a driver who is about to open the new car from Toyota.

From the picture, it is clear that Toyota wants to convey to the public that the new car is intended to pamper passengers in the back seat. So it’s not a self-driving car.

The car’s sturdy design can also be seen from the thick D pillars. In addition, there are many car body elements that are made very luxurious, such as LED taillights, chrome accents, and a car body that is made very thick.

These elements are very similar to the characteristics of ultra-luxury SUV cars such as the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Bentley Bentayga.

Carscoops predicts that Toyota’s luxury SUV, the challenger to Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Bentley Bentayga, will use Toyota’s luxury sedan platform, the Toyota Century.

“The car will carry Toyota’s TNGA-K platform which is installed in their various luxury cars such as the Toyota Alphard, Lexus LM, Toyota Avalon, to the Toyota Avalon and Grand Avalon,” said Carscoops.

The hint of a luxury SUV made by Toyota to challenge the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Bentley Bentayga actually came out when Simon Humphries, Chief Branding Officer (CBO) of Toyota Motor Corp released the new Toyota Alphard and Toyota Vellfire. At that time he said that in the near future Toyota would expand the market segment it was targeting.

One way is to change the paradigm of the Toyota Century, which is well known as the most luxurious sedan.

“The Toyota Century is already known as a car that provides the best chauffeured experience. However, the car also needs to evolve as we journey into the future. This effort will be a very impressive step in our efforts to change the future of cars,” explained Simon Humphries.

Carscoops suspects that this car will not have the same fate as the Toyota Century sedan. It is known that the Toyota Century currently has Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) status, which means it is not sold outside Japan.

Toyota’s luxury SUV, a challenger to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, is likely to become a global model. “In fact, the car was announced by the official Toyota website which applies globally,” predicted Carscoops.
