A Brief Introduction to the Mitsubishi XForce, Answering Skepticism

How does it feel to drive a car that is currently one of the stars being discussed at the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), namely the Mitsubishi XForce? Trying this car directly at GIIAS 2023 is actually quite difficult because there are so many visitors to GIIAS 2023 who want to experience first-hand the newest SUV sold by PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI).

MNC Portal Indonesia alone needs to queue long enough to get their turn. It’s just that the tiring waiting time is rewarded with the interesting experience provided by the Mitsubishi XForce.

It is considered interesting because at least the Mitsubishi XForce has answered the public’s skepticism that arose along with its official dispute at GIIAS 2023.

The first skepticism that was answered was the suspension problem which was fairly hard. You can be sure that the Mitsubishi XForce suspension is tough. Even when MNC Portal Indonesia passed the shock mark at high speed, there was a fairly strong shock and a loud sound.

It’s just that when you try it again at moderate speed, different conditions are felt. Shaking can be minimized and the sound is not too annoying. This means that Mitsubishi XForce is really trying to provide comfort for passengers in the car through the suspension they have designed.

It’s just that the orientation is on better driving pleasure. Moreover, Mitsubishi is indeed synonymous with cars that are fun to drive.

The second skepticism is the panoramic roof problem which doesn’t exist in the Mitsubishi XForce. MNC Portal Indonesia and another fellow journalist are known to have a height of around 175 centimeters and 179 centimeters.

Interestingly, the Mitsubishi XForce managed to provide a comfortable room. The head room really feels relieved so there’s absolutely no claustrophobic impression.

This is different from the application of a panoramic roof which actually seems artificial. Panoramic roofs are usually used to give a roomy impression that actually doesn’t feel roomy.

The third skepticism is the display or head unit of the Mitsubishi XForce, whose shape is considered disturbing because it is elongated. Some say it looks like the head unit of the Hyundai Stargazer which has finally been redesigned.

In fact, this is not the case because the Mitsubishi XForce’s driving position is very different. The driving position of the Hyundai Stargazer, like an MPV, makes the driver lower down like a sedan.

Unlike the SUV driving position in the Mitsubishi XForce which is slightly higher. So the Mitsubishi XForce touch screen doesn’t interfere with driving view at all.

Especially in terms of function and appearance, the Mitsubishi XForce’s 12.3-inch screen is the best part. This screen offers a lot of magic and advanced things that need to be explored with enough time.

Regarding performance, many people say that the Mitsubishi XForce engine is not very attractive because it still uses the Mitsubishi Xpander engine. Mitsubishi previously said that this was done because the Mitsubishi Xpander had been well received by the people of Indonesia and the people of other countries.

So the 1.5 liter four-cylinder engine coded 4A91 is capable of producing a maximum power of 103 hp at 6,000 rpm, with a peak torque of 141 Nm at 4,000 rpm. When tested, the machine was not that different from the Mitsubishi Xpander.

It also doesn’t have the weak impression that many people worry about because the engine is installed in an SUV. In fact, the gross weight of the Mitsubishi XForce is of course very much different from the Mitsubishi Xpander and Mitsubishi Xpander Cross, which use the same engine.

So for everyday life the Mitsubishi XForce is really enough. The bonus is that this car has an attractive appearance, cool entertainment and technology features, such as an exploratory driving mode.

Of course, for those who need something different, there can still be other options that do have the same price.
