These are Unique Details in Mitsubishi’s new SUV that Caught Test Drive on Indonesia Road

The signs of the presence of Mitsubishi’s new SUV are increasingly clear. Recently, a short 10-second video circulated showing the trial stages. It is believed that the car being tested is a new SUV from Mitsubishi.

In the video, it can be seen that the medium Mitsubishi’s new SUV is still covered with camouflage. It is known that the trial phase itself was carried out on the Jakarta-Bandung toll road.

This can be seen from the road information board which shows the Cikampek-Jakarta-Bandung information door. Still in the circulating video there are some pretty interesting details about this compact SUV.

First, the car’s ground clearance is quite high. This was seen when the car, which was still full of camouflage, was beside another car. In that condition, the ground clearance of Mitsubishi’s new SUV looks higher.

Of course these conditions are ideal for road conditions in the country.

Another detail is the dimensions of the car which looks big at the rear. This can be seen when the circulating video shows the side of the car.

It can be seen that the front of the car from the A pillar to the bonnet has a design that dives sharply. On the other hand, from the B-pillar to the stern, it looks bigger.

At least it impresses a more spacious cabin space. So even though it is only capable of carrying five passengers, the car can still provide a sense of comfort.

Another detail at the rear is the presence of a roof spoiler and a shark fin antenna. The use of roof spoilers and shark fin antennas is very common in modern compact SUVs that exist today, such as the Honda HR-V and Hyundai Creta.

At the front it is still difficult to find some clues from the car. It’s just that from the silhouette wrapped in camouflage, it’s clear that the car still retains the original design of the Mitsubishi XFC concept car.

This at least confirms the statement of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) officials who claim that the mass production car from the Mitsubishi XFC will be very similar.

This was also confirmed by the Director of Sales and Marketing Division of PT MMKSI Tetsuhiro Tsuchida during a visit to the Sindonews editorial team at the Sindo Building, Jakarta, last Thursday (22/6/2023). Tetsuhiro Tsuchida said the new SUV’s design would not be much different from the concept model. The similarity rate is above 80 percent. “The size is slightly larger. The comfort is much better, wider and the dashboard is more futuristic,” said Tetsuhiro Tsuchida.

Regarding the name, this car will have a global name because it will not only be marketed domestically but will be exported to a number of countries. Ahead of its launch, Mitsubishi has opened pre-orders for the new SUV since May 31, 2023. “We have started pre-orders for the SUV, which will be launched in Indonesia in August 2023,” said Tetsuhiro Tsuchida.

Previously, Mitsubishi had indeed revealed that the SUV had been tested several times on the road and in the environment of ASEAN countries. This step is expected to provide peace of mind when driving in various road conditions. The car has a panoramic roof and is equipped with Yamaha Premium Dynamic Sound audio. This audio system is the first to be developed by Mitsubishi Motors with Yamaha Corporation.
